Homoeopathy system is based on principle  “Similia Similibus Curentur” which is discovered by Dr Samuel Hahnemann sir.

Repertory is a systematically and logically arranged index to the Homoeopathic materia medica[1].The Repertory help us to seek out the required symptoms together with the remedies. It is a connecting link between Materia Medica and disease. This book is written by Dr Shankar Raghunath Phatak. It is reworking of Boger and Boenninghausen which is arranged in alphabetical way.

Dr. Phatak was basically an allopathic doctor, He had sound knowledge in Homoeopathy subjects, and various Repertories. A pioneer of Homoeopathy in Maharashtra. He was born on 6th September, 1896.[2]

This book is an enlarged and improved version of the ‘Repertory a part of Synoptic key to Materia Medica’ by C.M. Boger.

It is an alphabetical arranged clinical repertory and useful as a reference book. In this book author has given his own experience of drugs tested and cured in his own clinical practice.

It is a Post Kentanian Repertory (Middle time repertory). This repertory could also be a concise one and not exhaustive as repertories like by Kent, Boenninghausen etc. But it's aimed toward reducing the burden of prescribing by serving as a handy and useful reference.

There were no definite sections. The plan is in alphabetical order and covers heading like Mental generals, Modalities, Organs and their subparts. So finding appropriate rubric is easy.

For the construction of repertory author relied up on the Kent, Boger and Clark.

It is adaptable to cases rich in pathological and clinical symptoms.

It has 4 Editions

 1977- 2nd edition

 2000-3rd edition

 2005-4th edition
